Your Questions, Answered

La Higuera is exclusively available for private hire and availability is intentionally limited, so we recommend enquiring as early as possible — particularly for peak season (November to April). That said, last-minute enquiries are always welcome and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

La Higuera accommodates a maximum of four guests across two beautifully appointed double bedrooms. This is a deliberately intimate retreat — designed for couples travelling together, close friends, or a small group who want a truly private and exclusive experience. We do not accommodate more than four guests under any circumstances.
-
Both bedrooms are fitted with air conditioning, so you can sleep in cool comfort even on the warmest nights. The downstairs living space is open-plan and largely open to the elements by design — it's part of what makes La Higuera feel so connected to its surroundings — so this area is cooled by ceiling fans rather than AC. In practice, the natural cross-breeze through the open architecture keeps things remarkably comfortable, and most guests find the fans more than sufficient during their stay.

Everything you need for a comfortable and indulgent stay is taken care of. La Higuera provides all bed linen, towels, pool towels, and beach towels, so there's no need to pack your own. The bathrooms are stocked with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner from Laguna Cyprien , and each guest will find a luxurious bathrobe from the same local brand waiting for them on arrival. Hairdryers are also provided in each bedroom. We want you to arrive with nothing but your suitcase and your out-of-office on.

La Higuera is self-catering but we can suggest a few private chefs who use locally sourced ingredients.
Zihuatanejo has a large supermarket (MEGA Soriana) where you can find a wide choice of groceries and beverages.

Troncones is a small, laid-back coastal village — and that's exactly its charm. It has everything you need, without anything you don't.
You'll find a good selection of restaurants and bars, most of them right on the beach, serving fresh seafood and ice-cold drinks with views to match. There's a wine shop for stocking up on something special, a few boutiques for browsing local finds, a fruteria and a few small grocery stores for everyday basics. There's also a pharmacy and an ATM — though we'd recommend arriving with enough cash, as the ATM can be temperamental.
For anything more, the coastal city of Zihuatanejo is around 45 minutes away and offers supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, markets, and a wider choice of restaurants and shops — well worth a visit in its own right, with a beautiful bay and a charming historic centre.
Troncones itself isn't the place for supermarkets or chain restaurants, and that's the point. It's the kind of village where you slow down, eat well, and let the pace of the Pacific coast do its thing.

Absolutely. From surf lessons and kayaking tours to private yoga sessions, massages and cooking experiences with local chefs, we have trusted local contacts for everything. Just tell us what you'd love to do and we'll make it happen.
La Higuera also has a trail to the top of the property via the yoga platform — approximately 20 minutes, with stunning views at the summit. It's a challenging climb over uneven terrain, so sturdy boots and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended. Absolutely worth it.

La Higuera is an adults-only retreat, designed exclusively for guests aged 18 and over. Due to the nature of the site — with open rooftop terraces, steep drops, and unfenced areas — it is not a suitable or safe environment for children or teenagers. We kindly ask that all guests are adults at the time of their stay.

We want to be completely transparent about this, because we believe the right guests for La Higuera deserve to arrive knowing exactly what to expect. The property is built into a dramatic hillside site with significant changes in level throughout — including steep steps, uneven terrain, and areas that require sure footing and a reasonable level of mobility. It is not suitable for wheelchair users, guests with limited mobility, or anyone with walking difficulties. If you have any questions about the physical demands of the site before booking, please don't hesitate to ask — we're always happy to have an honest conversation.

As much as we love animals, La Higuera is not able to accommodate pets of any kind. We ask that all guests leave their four-legged companions at home for this one — we promise the sunsets will more than make up for it.
